Lemkenhafen, früher ein typisches Fischerdorf, ist heute ein beschaulicher, im Sommer manchmal trubeliger Urlaubsort mit einem kleinen Yachthafen und ausgezeichneten Fischrestaurants. Es gibt einen Fahrrad- und Bootsverleih, eine Surf- und Kiteschule und ein Mühlenmuseum.Fast immer vor Augen - ob aktiv auf dem Wasser, zu Fuß über die Deichwege oder mit dem Fahrrad rund um die Insel - ist das weite Meer und der endlose Himmel, die am Horizont ineinanderfließen. Hier kann man gar nicht anders als sich Zeit nehmen, eine Auszeit am Meer.
