High situated vacation house with wonderful far views of town and landscapes. Wasungen, a town in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thuringia, is one of the oldest towns in the region. Stroll in the old town through narrow streets, past beautiful half-timbered houses, which testify to a long history and earlier times of prosperity. A nice destination for an excursion is the landmark of the town or the castle ruin Maienluft, which towers high above the town. In the town, the carnival has a long tradition, which even goes back to the Middle Ages. In addition to the Thuringian Forest, the open hills of the Vorderrhön invite you to wonderful hikes, and the Werratal bike trail leads directly through the town. Experience the nearby forest botanical plants, which are considered a rarity, and take city trips to Meiningen, Eisenach, Erfurt, Gotha, Weimar or Schmalkalden. On the Werra you can go kayaking or canoeing.
